Emperor Charles VI, the last Habsburg, and at the end puzzles in Gothic script

Pofyrtane dzieje Folwarku – The history of Folwark

Charles VI (1711-1740) our emperor. His predecessor Emperor Joseph I lived briefly, dying suddenly at the age of 33 while the war over the inheritance of the Spanish throne was still going on. But these disputes did not reach Silesia, nor did the conflicts of our new Emperor Charles VI with the Turks (1714-1718) and (1736-1739).

That the wars passed us by does not mean that the Folwarczanie and the inhabitants of Opole lived peacefully. Other disasters struck us: “Fire - Water - Hunger”.

In 1713 our beautiful river, the Oder, caused terrible devastation. We who remember 1997 know how much damage such water can do. The town of Opole turned to the Silesian estates for help and support, but the reply read: “The damage done by the water is widespread; if one wished to support all those affected, it would run to several million; whoever uses the river should also bear the damage it does.”

In 1722, 26 houses burned down in Opole, and on 19 others the roofs had to be torn off to stop the fire.
In 1732 another flood and famine throughout Silesia.
In 1739 (30 May) a fire broke out in Opole and reduced 2/3 of the town to ashes. Opole at that time had 210 houses, of which only 75 remained undamaged. And here a little piece of information: subjects from the Prószków estate (Oderfeld) with their fire pumps and 200 peasants from the surrounding area (Oderfeld - Chrzowice) took part in putting out the fire. And the subjects of the castle on Ostrówek island (the Folwarczanie) were employed in the rebuilding and in transporting building materials.

22.05.1712 crowned King of Hungary
5.09.1723 crowned King of Bohemia

20.10.1740 the last Habsburg emperor in the male line dies.

Charles III, brought up in Spain by the Jesuits, was to secure the inheritance of the Spanish throne. Musically gifted, pedantic, the beloved son of Emperor Leopold I. At 21 he was crowned King of Spain. After the death of the emperor (his brother) Joseph I, the Viennese court demanded his return to Vienna. On the way back, on 12.10.1711, he stopped in Frankfurt am Main, where the estates unanimously elected him (Charles III, King of Spain) Emperor of Rome and the German Reich, as Charles VI. This was a stratagem planned by Prince Eugene to thwart the efforts of Catholic France and Protestant Prussia to fill the imperial vacancy after the death of Joseph I (17 April 1711). And so (by trickery) the next Habsburg reigned in Spain and was Emperor of Rome. But this only led to the outbreak of a new war between the French and the Habsburgs (1712).
The last years of his life were nothing but worries: many lost wars, great financial problems and, greatest of all, the lack of a descendant in the male line (for whom he waited until his last days) to take the place of Habsburg emperor after his death. But this did not succeed. After hope was lost, efforts and preparations began to change the custom: his second (living) daughter Maria Theresa became our empress.

A few pages from our parish calendar: children who were born in our parish. All without translation. These are the kind of crossword puzzles I offer my internet readers to solve.

Greetings from Folwark, Rudolf

Read also the parents' names and the names of the godparents and their social status (Bauer, Gärtner, Häusler, Einlieger and others). Good luck (because I struggle with this too).
